Why? It's a Targa, it's designed to be driven with the top down during the summer not as a winter beater. That was the one new 911 I would want to own, 911 targa RWD with a manual in red.

My thoughts exactly. I could understand AWD as an option, (because what isn't an option when you're buying a Porsche) but I just don't see why you can't get one with RWD. It doesn't even seem to me that it was a decision motivated by money, as I'm sure they would sell plenty of both flavors...

I prefer red. I saw both colors in person and I like the look of the silver hoop with red better. This would be the only car I would probably ever buy in red.

"The best" is over-rated.

Cars these days, especially Porsche's 911s are so capable that most people won't even come near to the limit of the car's capabilities. So you can choose one that isn't the best, and it will still more than please you.
